The first Argentine league began in 1891, this makes it the 3rd oldest league after Great Britain and the Netherlands. The Argentina national soccer teams the 1978 and 1986 were the World Cup champions and were runner-ups in 1930 and 1990. Soccer is the most popular sport played in Argentina. In total there are 2,658,811, with 3,377 clubs and 37,161 officials.

Pato ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pato is a sport played in Argentina. Pato is spanish for "duck". It is played when the 1st team reaches its own casco (ranch house) with the duck. Pato was banned in many places for violence to the duck and the people. It was declared Argentinas national game in 1953.

Rugby ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rugby is a popular sport people play in Argentina. The 1st game ever played was in 1873. People have competed at Rugby World Cups. It was formed in 1899. It was brought from the Irish immigrants on where they introduced the new sport to them which they still continue to play.
